14. Location

Some observing routes and examples may be designed primarily for the United Kingdom and similar northern mid-latitudes.

Customers in other locations remain responsible for consulting appropriate current local sky information.

15. Solar Safety

Never look directly at the Sun through ordinary binoculars, a telescope, finder scope, camera optical viewfinder, or similar magnifying optical equipment.

An error during solar observation can cause permanent eye damage.

Solar observation should only be undertaken with correctly fitted, purpose-built solar equipment and appropriate expert instruction.

Ordinary sunglasses, improvised filters, or unapproved materials are not substitutes for proper solar-observation equipment.

16. Telescope and Binocular Use

Customers remain responsible for:

Reading manufacturer instructions.
Assembling equipment correctly.
Using suitable mounts.
Aligning equipment safely.
Using appropriate magnification.
Maintaining and storing equipment properly.

Where our guides discuss finder alignment, customers should never use the Sun as an alignment target.

Preserving dark adaptation should never take priority over personal safety.
